5 star rated Angkor Wat photographer

Over 10 years photographing couples, families and solo travelers in Siem Reap

Working with an experienced Angkor Wat photographer means your session is designed with care, creativity, and a deep understanding of the Angkor temples. After years of photographing sunrise light, quiet corners, and the most unique locations, I’m able to guide you through a relaxed and natural experience while capturing genuine emotion. I love what I do, and my goal is to create images that feel real, personal, and beautifully connected to this place I call home.

Why choose an Angkor Wat photoshoot with Siem Reap Photographer?

When you book an Angkor Wat photoshoot with me, you are not joining a standard temple tour where a photographer tags along. The photoshoot is the experience.

I plan every session around the light, the crowds and the mood of each location. Because I live and work in Siem Reap, I know exactly where to stand and when the light will look soft and flattering rather than harsh and flat.

Whether you are travelling as a couple, a family or on your own, my focus is on calm, natural posing, real interaction and images that feel like your memories rather than staged stock photos. You will leave with a set of professional photographs that actually show what it felt like to be at Angkor Wat.

How a typical Angkor Wat photoshoot works

1. Planning and timing

We decide together whether sunrise, early morning or late afternoon suits you best. Sunrise at Angkor Wat has the classic reflection view; later in the morning we can use softer light inside the corridors and around the trees. I will advise on timing based on the season and your energy levels.

2. Meeting at Angkor Wat

On the day, we meet near the main causeway or your driver drops you at the agreed point. I will help you with the ticket process before the photoshoot so we don’t need to do it on the day

3. Shooting around the temple

During the photoshoot we move between a few carefully chosen spots with the best light and backgrounds. I guide you through relaxed poses and natural movement so you never feel stiff or awkward. You will not need to think about what to do with your hands.

4. After your photoshoot

After the session you are free to continue exploring Angkor Wat or head back to your hotel. Within a set number of days you receive a private online gallery with professionally edited high-resolution images ready for download and printing.

FAQ’s

Q1: What time do Angkor Wat photoshoots start?

Sunrise sessions usually start very early so that we are in position before the first light. Exact times change through the year, however I will confirm the meeting time when you book. Afternoon sessions normally start a few hours before sunset so we can use the soft light.

Q2: Do you arrange transport and temple tickets?

You will need your own Angkor Pass for the session. Many guests already have a pass from the day before. I can help you understand which pass you need and how to buy it. If you need a driver I can recommend reliable local drivers I work with regularly.

Q3: What should we wear for an Angkor Wat photoshoot?

Simple, comfortable clothing works best. Light, neutral colours photograph well against the stone and trees. Avoid very busy patterns or logos. Shoulders and knees should be covered to respect temple dress codes. I can send more detailed suggestions once you book.

Q4: What happens if it rains?

Light cloud or a little mist can actually create very soft, beautiful light. If we have heavy rain at the start time we will either wait a short while or, if the forecast is very bad, try to move your session to another time where possible. This has happened twice in the past 10 years.

Q5: How many photos will we receive and when?

This depends on your chosen package, however all sessions include a generous selection of fully edited high resolution images. Most galleries are delivered within a set number of days. You receive a private online gallery where you can download and share your photos.

If you would like to check dates, ask a question or start planning your Angkor Wat photoshoot, send me a message with your preferred dates and who will be in the photos. I will reply as soon as possible with suggestions tailored to you.

Who is an Angkor Wat photoshoot for?

An Angkor Wat photoshoot is ideal if you are:

  • A couple wanting engagement, pre-wedding or anniversary photos in a unique location

  • A family who would like relaxed photographs instead of uncomfortable staged poses

  • A solo traveller who does not want only phone selfies of this part of your trip

  • Friends celebrating a special journey together

Sessions can be tailored for shy people, camera confident people and everyone in between. You do not need any experience in front of the camera.

Siem Reap photoshoots beyond Angkor Wat

Many guests choose to focus on Angkor Wat, however Siem Reap has many other beautiful locations for photography. Depending on your package and energy levels we can add:

  • Jungle temples such as Ta Prohm or Ta Nei

  • The faces of Bayon in Angkor Thom

If you are interested in a longer Siem Reap photoshoot that includes Angkor Wat plus other temples or locations, tell me in your enquiry and I will suggest a plan.

About your Angkor Wat photographer

I am a professional photographer based in Siem Reap and I have been photographing at Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples for more than ten years. I’ve spent many years shooting hotels, resorts and restaurants, which taught me how to work with light and composition in great depth.

I focus on creating honest, cinematic images for travelers who want something more personal than a standard tour photo. To learn more about me and my background, visit my About page.

About My Photoshoots

My photoshoots at Angkor Wat or in Siem Reap are not having someone to take snapshots while you tour the temples. I don’t join existing tours or follow groups around on their existing tour.

Each photography session is the tour, planned around the best light, the quietest areas at the right times, and the specific locations that work best for authentic, cinematic images. This approach means you get professional photography rather than generic pictures in crowded spots, wating in lines with bad light.

My focus is always on quality, real locations, and creating meaningful images rather than quick snapshots. When you book a photoshoot with me you’re booking a photographer dedicated to the art of photography.

If you are looking for a more tour oriented photographer to take snapshots on your tour - see a more budget-friendly Angkor Wat photography option.
